Hello. I’m a part-time, 'born again' painter based in Surrey. (I'm better known as a full-time designer – if you're looking for that info, my other website is here.)

I've drawn, painted and made things since I was a kid – daubing lettering on the garden walls in watery mud, labouring over pencil portraits of pop stars, making eccentric post-punk fashion creations...
The school art room led to the Art Foundation course at, what was, Sir John Cass in Whitechapel, London. My inspirational tutor, Danny, guided me to graphic design, but not without a solid grounding in drawing along with his overly enunciated mantra, “Ob-ser-va-tion!”. I spent much of my design degree course working on both illustration and design projects. Choosing between them for the final year was tough.
Throughout my career I've returned to life drawing and art courses to lose myself again in mark making. It's my happy place. Always therapeutic and addictive, it recharges my creative energy and gets me thinking in different ways.

In 2017, I returned to painting with renewed clarity and purpose. The figurative work pushes me to really look, really see, really observe. Thanks Danny. The abstract paintings explore deeper themes, stretching me to capture more elusive and intangible ideas.
